“It’s important to clarify that no funding has been guaranteed for any projects through HB 2,” Johnson said. “In fact, this bill was created without any input from the Senate, breaking a long-held tradition in the General Assembly of both chambers working together on a capital funding bill. While some in the House of Representatives have claimed that funding has been ‘secured’ for local projects, this is simply not the case.”
“It appears that the bill was intentionally rushed to allow members to appropriate $350 million for pet projects in their home districts ahead of a competitive March primary election,” said Donovan O’Neil of AFP-Ohio. “Legislation released in the dark of night and moved at breakneck speed only serves to sow distrust in what should be an otherwise transparent government process.”
Why is this important? On March 19th, voters will go to the polls to vote in the 2024 Primary Election. Here in the 90th District, Rep. Justin Pizzulli is being challenged for his seat, and money is pouring into the district from Democrat-selected Speaker Jason Stephens’ campaign slush fund, known as OHRA. Following the Speaker’s lead, left-wing groups, including many that endorsed President Joe Biden for re-election, have donated thousands to Pizzulli’s campaign according to a recent campaign finance filing.
We have had a huge outpouring of support for my campaign to bring integrity back to the 73rd House district. It’s time for all residents of the 73rd district to take a stand on the importance of putting citizens first before personal enrichment.
Instead of working to make going to the grocery store or the gas pump affordable again, my opponent voted with House Biden Democrats, many of the same Biden Democrats who support abortion up to birth and the suppression of your second amendment rights, to remove the duly elected Conservative House Speaker. He and twenty-one other so-called Republicans worked with Biden Democrats to overturn the will of the voters of Ohio. His actions worked to divide and weaken the State Republican Party.
No matter if you live in Canal Winchester, Pickerington, Baltimore, Carroll, Lancaster, Millersport, Thurston, Pleasantville, and all those in between, I pledge to stand up as a Conservative and represent every citizen. I will always work to unite not divide. Let’s return integrity to the State House.
My goals are straightforward:
1). Work to change Ohio’s unfair tax laws to reduce the property tax burden on disabled veterans and elderly residents on a fixed income to make sure they can afford to stay in their homes.
2). Bring legislation to stop China or Chinese companies from purchasing or owning land or businesses in Ohio.
3). Protect girls' sports by supporting legislation that mandates that only those born as girls can compete in girls' sports.
4). Parents should raise their children, not the state. I will work to protect parental rights in the education and health care of their children by sponsoring legislation making it a felony to indoctrinate students in CRT or gender identity.
